Hai Thanh Le Phuong
head of research

Hai Thanh started her university studies at Corvinus University of Budapest and graduated as a finance major from Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands. She joined Concorde’s research team in 2013. She is a specialist in the Central Eastern European (Romanian, Austrian, Hungarian) banking sector. In addition, she also analyses regional foreign exchange bonds, especially those issued by the banks belonging to her area of expertise (Erste, Raiffeisen and OTP). She was awarded the ‘Strategy of the Year’ title by Vilaggazdasag and selected the member of the board by the CFA Society Hungary in 2019.

She focuses on the following sectors and companies:

Banks and other financial service providers: OTP, Erste, Raiffeisen, BRD, Banca Transilvania, BVB
Hungarian small-cap: Masterplast
Other: Wienerberger


Tamás Móró
head of strategy

Tamás graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in 1996. He worked as an analyst for Hungarian brokerage firms between 1995 and 2000 before joining Concorde, where he was in charge of foreign trading. He was product development manager between 2003 and 2007, and head of research between 2007 and 2011. Today he is our head of strategy.

Tamás keeps track of all major international economic and financial trends so he can give an expert opinion on almost any topic relating to international markets.

Attila Vágó
senior analyst

Attila analyses the pharmaceutical and oil sectors of the CEE region and also specializes in the assessment of fixed income products and derivatives. Following his graduation from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, he worked as a economic journalist, and started to work at Concorde in January 1994. He held the position of head of research from 2003 to 2007. He was awarded the ‘Stock Exchange Analyst of the Year’ title by the Budapest Stock Exchange in 2001, and his analyst team won the Budapest Stock Exchange’ prize of “the Best Research House” in 2005. AQ Research rated his OMV and Richter analyses to be the most accurate ones in 2011. Attila is the most well-known  independent Hungarian equity analyst of some listed insurance companies in the region.

Oil sector: MOL, INA, OMV, PKN Orlen, OMV Petrom, Romgas, Tupras and Hellenic Petroleum
Pharmaceutical companies: Richter Gedeon and KRKA

Sándor Jobbágy
senior macroeconomic analyst

Sándor received his MSc in Finance at the Budapest University of Economics. Between 2000 and 2008 he produced investment strategies as fixed income analyst at DZ Bank CEE Research supporting institutional investors in the regional government bond markets. In the next 12 years he was working as senior macroeconomic analyst at CIB Bank. He received the Consensus Economics Forecast Accuracy Award for his GDP and CPI forecasts in 2013 and 2016. He joined the research team of Concorde Securities Ltd. in August 2020.

Gellért Gaál
senior equity analyst

Gellért started his university studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics then graduated with a master’s degree in finance from Corvinus University of Budapest. In addition to his studies in Hungary, he also attended courses at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He was on the Budapest Stock Exchange team from 2013 to 2014, then worked as a risk analyst at Morgan Stanley. He joined Concorde’s research team in 2015 and now specialises in real estate and in telecommunication sectors. Additionally, he is interested  in the commodity market as well, especially the crude oil market.

He focuses on the following sectors and companies:

Gábor Bukta
equity analyst

Gabor graduated with a master’s degree in finance from Corvinus University of Budapest in 2018. Simultaneously, between 2015 and 2018, he worked as a capital market analyst for local fund management and brokerage firms, additionally he also was at Budapest Stock Exchange. He joined Concorde’s Research team in spring 2018 where specialises in European low cost airlines, especially Wizz Air, and Romanian Utilities. Amongst Hungarian Small caps, Gabor analyses ANY Security Printing Company.

Gábor Péntek
equity analyst

Gabor started his studies at Corvinus University of Budapest, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, then went on to graduate from the Rotterdam School of Management with a master’s degree in Finance and Investments. During his bachelor studies, Gabor worked at OTP Bank in the Treasury department. He joined Concorde’s research team in 2020, specializing in banking and construction sectors, covering Raiffeisen and Masterplast. He also writes and edits our newsflow on American markets.
