János Samu
head of research

János graduated as a finance and economic policy major from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in 1999. He has extensive professional experience: after working as a journalist for Hungarian business daily Világgazdaság between 1998 and 2000, he went on to serve as a macroeconomic analyst at the Government Debt Management Agency (Államadósság Kezelő Központ) until 2004, when he started to work as a macroeconomic analyst at Concorde Securities Ltd. Hungarian financial daily Napi Gazdaság voted him ‘Macro Analyst of the Year’ in 2005, 2006 and 2009.

He focuses on the following areas:

The Hungarian and international macroeconomic situation
The Polish, Turkish, Russian and Romanian economies
Various foreign currencies

Tamás Móró
head of strategy

Tamás graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in 1996. He worked as an analyst for Hungarian brokerage firms between 1995 and 2000 before joining Concorde, where he was in charge of foreign trading. He was product development manager between 2003 and 2007, and head of research between 2007 and 2011. Today he is our head of strategy.

Tamás keeps track of all major international economic and financial trends so he can give an expert opinion on almost any topic relating to international markets.

Attila Vágó
senior analyst

Attila analyses the pharmaceutical and oil sectors ofthe region and also specializes in the assessment of derivatives. Following his graduation from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, he worked as a journalist, and started to work at Concorde in January 1994. He was head of research from 2003 to 2007. He was awarded the ‘Stock Exchange Analyst of the Year’ title by the Budapest Stock Exchange in 2001. AQ Research rated his OMV and Richter analyses to be the most accurate ones in 2011.

Dániel Tunkli
senior analyst

Dániel graduated with a master’s degree in finance, specialising in investment analysis, from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He finished his studies at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2014. Then he joined Concorde’s research team, where he focused on the electric power market and telecommunications companies of the region, later supplementing that with the airlines market related to the Wizz Air IPO.

He focuses on the following companies:

Hai Thanh Le Phuong
senior analyst

Hai Thanh started her university studies at Corvinus University of Budapest and graduated as a finance major from Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands. She joined Concorde’s research team in 2013. She is a specialist in the Central Eastern European (Romanian, Austrian, Hungarian) banking sector. In addition, she also analyses regional foreign exchange bonds, especially those issued by the banks belonging to her area of expertise (Erste, Raiffeisen and OTP).

She focuses on the following companies:

Gellért Gaál
equity analyst

Gellért started his university studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics then graduated with a master’s degree in finance from Corvinus University of Budapest. In addition to his studies in Hungary, he also attended courses at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He was on the Budapest Stock Exchange team from 2013 to 2014, then worked as a risk analyst. He joined Concorde’s research team in 2015 and now specialises in regional banks.

He focuses on the following companies:

Electricity and gas providers: Verbund, Hidroelectrica, CEZ, Transgaz, Uniper

Szabolcs Rövid

Szabolcs started his studies as a finance and accounting major at the Budapest Business School, then extended his financial knowledge further in the master’s course in finance at Corvinus University of Budapest. He joined Concorde’s research team in 2013. He focuses on major international economic trends, exchange rate fluctuations, the regional real estate market, and analyses price changes in European and Hungarian shares from a technical and market sentiment perspective.
